David Collins is interested in the art of storytelling, and is willing to use any medium as an outlet for his creative energy. He considers role-playing to be one of the best modern styles of storytelling, but thinks that it's full potential is rarely realized. He is experienced in both tabletop and live action gaming, in running things as well as playing. In the genre of fantasy, he prefers spooky atmospheres and dark humour, but is also partial to romance and epic adventures. Some of the things he likes are: works of literature written in the 18th and 19th Centuries, the Sandman comics, Edward Gorey, Harry Potter, folklore and mythology, Swedish movies, and writing about himself in the third person.
David likes the Gloomveil world because it holds so many possibilities for the imagination and because it's interactive, so that most of the readers are also, in some ways, the writers. He remains sceptical about Neverwinter Nights, as he is uncertain as to whether any computer-based game could match up to a good tabletop or LARP, but will probably play it anyway.
