Fog Creatures

Small in size, but often great in number, these hunchbacked forms can barely be distinguished as they race across the edge of the Fog. We can only guess at their true visage, as reports from travellers and sages alike are often contradictory. What we do know is that these creatures are capable of shredding a man with alarming speed. As with Vultures, the creatures abhorr the light.

"Standing the height of a halfling or gnome, these dark beings have watched us from a distance for some time. They have never attacked us, but reports of attacks on adventuring parties is not unheard of. These fog dwellers are oft found peering in from the fog, barely visible. If you pay attention, you can sometimes see them follwing your travels, using the fog as a covering device."

Walking Dead

It is not uncommon to see a Gloomveil visitor long thought dead to revisit us as a walking corpse. Whatever strange magic is behind this allows a variety of undead creatures to habitate many areas of the Gloom. Some seem to guard the Barrow Keep, while others can be seen on the outskirts of the Fog, as if trying to find a way back home even in death.

"Battlefield corpses standing erect, arranging themselves in formation as if controlled by an unseen commander, these pathetic creatures seemed set on the destruction of the enemy. An enemy barely distinguishable from themselves - rotted, disintigrating, and crawling with graveworms. Each side was ill-equipped, some with great-axes, many with pole-arms, many more still with only their fetid claws to use as weapons."
