Your Character

You are free to bring any humanoid character to Gloomveil from any appropriate roleplaying world, campaign, or setting. It is important to realize that when in Gloomveil, you are in our world, and the certainties of your character's world may not apply. Your character is free to assert any belief he or she might have, but other characters who are not from your world may have no idea what you're talking about.

The species of your character must be reasonable. Any classic fantasy race is allowed (such as Elves, Orcs, Dwarves, Hobbits, etc.,) but please keep your werewolves, dragons, ogres, and demons out of Gloomveil. If you absolutely must bring something like this into Gloomveil, please keep your character "in human form," and please keep the grandstanding to a minimum. Also bear in mind that you will be granted no special powers or privileges by our Storytellers.

The world, and your place in it.

Gloomveil has a distinct flavour to it, best described as "creepy." We appreciate your contributions to this atmosphere, but please don't add anything significant to the world that hasn't been mentioned elsewhere on the site. We agree that Vampires, Demons, and Devils are creepy, but there aren't any in Gloomveil, so please don't bring them with you when you visit. The range of creatures and monsters in Gloomveil is fairly narrow- visit The Creatures for more information.

How do I know what time of day it is?

People in Real Life don't seem log on to the boards at the same time, or with any regularity. Because of this, the passage of time is not really measurable in real terms. Best to assume it's perpetually dusk. It would be possible to regulate time by posting as a Timekeeper with information, but that's too much effort for us right now.

Is someone keeping track of who is present in Gloomveil, or where everyone is?

Nobody on our end is tracking characters, nor do we have any plans to do so. Since people in Real Life don't seem log on to the boards at the same time, or with any regularity, it would be very time consuming to track everyone's whereabouts.
