Has seen things great and small,

Seas high has sailed and forests stalked,

Seen death and life and all,

 

The keeps of kings, the halls of lords,

All things the bard has seen,

Mountains, forests, fields, and fiords,

All places has he been,

 

But nay one place was such as this,

This place of veiled gloom,

For he knows he shall return and miss,

The peace and 'brace the doom.
