Toronto's Humane Society is in danger of being abandoned. City Council is meeting February 13 at 9:30am to vote on a bill that would remove the Humane Society's legal right to accept stray animals into their shelter. It appears that the City would rather build a new facility on the CNE grounds at the "Horse Palace." If you're interested in having a say, you can show up at City Hall's Council Chambers and support whatever side of the coin you like. [headsup>bruce]

Rosie gay? Who cares? Well, maybe her fans will. And advertisers on her TV show and print magazine.

Wicked combo! Last week, some serious security issues in MSN Messenger came to light. A security hole exposes your user name and those of your contacts. If a username isn't available, your email address can be siphoned.

Over the weekend, The Register reported on a new twist: A newly-discovered bug in Internet Explorer can allow "impersonating the victim and sending spoof messages and spoof e-mail memos to his contacts, and scouring his local drive for interesting files to share around."

I played Parappa the Rapper 2 last night, and while the shock value is less than the original, it has the same delightful insanity and great music as the original. There is even a plot this time - save Parappa Town from the dreaded Noodleizer... by rapping, of course. Highlights include a repeat performance by Master Onion, and the coolest old-school arcade throwback EVER.
