  • 9:10am EST- The other side of the world is glitch-free. Yahoo and CNN reporting at least one of Russia's nuclear reactors survived the turnover. Nothing crazy happened in New Zealand or Australia. I will be one happy puppy if the rest of the day goes as smoothly. Ongoing commentary on Slashdot.
9:58am EST- Kyoto is ringing in the New Year on a 70-ton bell. The bell helps to cleanse one of all 108 worldly desires. No reports of giant monsters or robots on the rampage.
  • Oh yeah, Boris Yeltsin resigned, and the Indian hostage standoff has ended peacefully. It's a crazy day for news, ain't it?
  • A cool interview with the stunt coordinator of the Lord of the Rings trilogy over at Aint it Cool News. Sounds like the production and direction teams are really making a concentrated effort to have a "believable" fantasy movie. A good read, go check it out.
  • Sandwich.com goes here. What the hell? All I wanted was a sandwich!
  • It's a big week for witches. George Harrison (former Beatle) was stabbed the other day by a nutbar who thought the Beatles were witches. 5 schoolgirls were expelled in Santiago as suspected witches. Expelling, stabbing, everyone knnows if you want to get rid of a witch, you have to BURN THEM!! Just kidding, my pagan and wiccan friends. Please don't curse me.
