Tringo is a clever, addictive puzzle game that was first deployed in the virtual world of Second Life and has had a massive impact on the culture of that cyberspace. Tringo, created by a Second Life resident, scored Linden Lab a lot of press when the real-world rights were purchased by an outside company for use on mobile platforms.

San Francisco-based Donnerwood Media, the real-world licensor, doesn't seem to have done much with their acquisition. Their browser-based version of the game is disappointing [link via SLForum], for more significant reasons than its abysmal audio/visual presentation. Tringo's greatest (and proven) strength is its social aspect. If Donnerwood isn't planning on producing Tringo as a multiplayer online puzzle game, they are missing the boat entirely. Which would be a shame, considering Tringo appears to be the company's only asset.
