Linden Lab Gets Bloggy Wid It
Posted 2004-10-07 by Tony Walsh
I've noticed a concerted effort over the last several weeks by Linden Lab to increase blogging awareness around their flagship Second Life product. Not only have an assortment of "fan" blogs been added to SL's official sites, but New World Notes--SL's official weblog--has been plugged lately on the login screen to Second Life. Additionally, New World Notes played host to a fashion expo a few days ago. Fashion is one of Second Life's biggest virtual industries, so such a sponsorship goes a long way to bolstering readership of the official weblog. I reported recently that Second Life is a major advertiser in adblog Kotaku.

Lastly, I discovered today that Linden Lab CEO Philip Rosedale has started a weblog. I'm curious to see what the founder of one of the most robust virtual worlds out there has to say--and how frequently he says it. Considering Rosedale's blog is Second-Life-branded, I'm not sure we're going to get much frank commentary, but that's what reader comments are for. Welcome to the blogosphere, Philip!
