Warner Bros Records Seeks ‘Second Life’ Mini-World

Ethan Kaplan, Director of Technology for Warner Bros Records, is looking for "someone who knows Second Life like the back of their hand to create a mini-world type thing for a band of ours." While Kaplan wouldn't offer any further details, he promised to let us know when the virtual world project is ready to go public.

Let's hope the Warner Bros effort does better in Second Life than Wells Fargo's Stagecoach Island.

You and me both. But more than this, I wonder when we will be able to mod the entire SL client interface, like WoW players are already able to do. This way, businesses could make feature-disabled, branded SL browsers. I doubt anyone will be building objects or buying L$ in this Warner Bros mini-world.

I can't disclose the band just in case it doesn't happen. We have had the idea of a SL world for a record release or what not for a bit, just a matter of finding the right artist and timing, so hopefully this proves to be the first of many.
